Log on to Windows

I once forgot my password for my PC which runs on windows XP. Through that dilemma I was able to log in using the following method.

Reboot your computer
press F8 before the windows boot screen appears
select start windows in safe mode
click on the administrator Icon(this is an inbuilt account created when windows is installed)
press Yes to continue using safe mode on the prompt that appears
You can then remove your old password from the user accounts in the control setting

NB: works if the administrator account did not have a password.
You must own the computer and be licensed to use the operating system to do this.
